Ingredients

  • 250 grams of unsalted curd cheese
  • Just more than half a glass of granulated sugar
  • 125 grams of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 grated lemon peel
  • 2.5 cups flour
  • Half a pack of baking powder

How to make curd cookies?

Make sure that all the materials you will use are at room temperature.

In a deep kneading bowl, mix unsalted curd cheese and granulated sugar.

Knead the granulated sugar with your hands until the grains disappear completely. It will have a soft consistency.

Add the butter, egg and grated lemon peel into the kneading bowl and continue to mix.

Sift the baking powder and flour and add them to the mixture little by little.

Continue kneading until you get a soft and slightly lumpy dough.

Cover your cookie dough with a slightly damp cloth. Let it rest for 10 minutes in this way.

Then cut out walnut-sized pieces from the dough. Roll the pieces and shape them.

Place the dough you have shaped on an oiled paper lined baking tray at intervals.

Bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for about 30 minutes until the color darkens slightly.

Let the baked cookies rest for a while before serving. Enjoy your meal!
